Highlands Bowl….

This last Saturday I got to hike the Bowl again. A picture perfect day so I took some! From the Bowl you can see Pyramid Peak and the Maroon Bells. The view along the ridge at the top reminds me of Europe. Here you are at over 12,300 feet. Then I skiied down the line known as Ozone. I stopped part way down just under a tree island to take another photo. It always amazes me how when you take photos of steep things (like Capitol Peak from Capitol Lake) close up they don’t look as steep as they really are. So I took another one from further away. If you look for the same tree island in the middle of the photo then for the rocks to the left in the photo that is where I skiied.. just to skiiers left of that line created by the rocks. Some moguls in the Bowl – lol- unusual to find them there at the bottom of Ozone. You are skiing down a little over 2500 feet of vertical here… truly awesome!

About Bronwyn

Hi. I moved to the Aspen area from Australia in 1997 and have a daughter born right here in Aspen in 2000. I teach skiing (for the past eighteen seasons) and am a Real Estate Advisor with Engel & Völkers Roaring Fork.. I love to ski, snowboard, horse-ride, raft, and hike with our dog Sheila. This valley offers so much and one day I may also take up golf or fishing!
